Technical guides and buying guides
These pages exist to answer the questions buyers ask before they are ready to send an enquiry — which grade, which standard, what tolerance, what documents. They are written for people specifying material, not for search engines, and they state plainly where a figure depends on the order rather than inventing one.
How to choose a grade
A working method: corrosion, strength and fabrication in three questions, with a comparison table and decision routes.

Grade 2 vs Grade 5
Side-by-side comparison of the two most ordered grades: properties, workability, welding, cost logic and which to pick.

How ASTM, ASME SB, GB, DIN and AMS relate, scope by product form, cross-references and EN 10204 certificates.

Plate buying guide
What to specify: thickness and size conventions, tolerance basics, surface terms, documents to request, common mistakes.

Tube buying guide
Tube versus pipe terms, seamless or welded, wall tolerance, testing, lengths, end finishes and an RFQ template.

If you only read one
If the question is which grade, read the grade selection guide — it walks through corrosion, strength and fabrication in the order a buyer actually decides them. If the question is what to write on the enquiry, the plate and tube buying guides each end with the specification fields that matter, and the standards guide explains what an ASME SB designation means on a coded job.
Still unsure
Send the duty and the dimensions even if the grade is undecided. A description of the medium, the temperature and what the part has to do is enough for us to propose a grade and say what it would cost against the alternatives.
