Titanium Coil, Foil & Strip

Thin titanium in coil or cut sheet, from 0.03 mm foil to 0.5 mm strip, in Grade 1 and Grade 2 annealed condition. Width, coil dimensions and cut lengths are available upon specification confirmation — send the gauge and width you need.

Overview

Coil, foil and strip are the thin end of the flat-product range and are bought in smaller quantities by a different set of customers: gasket manufacturers, electrochemical and electrode producers, shielding and thermal applications, and precision component makers who need thin material in a continuous form.

Thin material is unforgiving. Edge condition, camber (the sideways curvature of a coil), surface cleanliness and thickness consistency all affect whether the material can run through a customer's process, so those are the things to state in an enquiry alongside the dimensions.

Where a figure depends on the specific order it is confirmed in the quotation — please contact us for confirmation.

The 0.03–0.5 mm figure is the foil thickness range covered by our product documentation. Width, coil length and strip gauges are not published because they depend on the rolling route — send us the gauge, width and form you need and we will confirm what can be quoted.

Grades

Grade 1 and Grade 2 are the normal choices for thin flat product. Grade 1 is used where maximum formability matters, since it is the softest commercially pure grade. Grade 2 is used where the strength and corrosion performance of the standard CP grade is wanted in thin form. Both are supplied in annealed condition unless a cold-worked temper is specifically required.

Coil versus cut sheet packing

Coil keeps the material continuous, which suits automated feed and minimises offcut. Cut sheet is easier to handle and store in a job shop and avoids the need for decoiling equipment. The packing follows: coils are wound, edge-protected and strapped, while cut sheet is interleaved and case-packed to protect the surface.

Typical uses

Gaskets and seals

Thin sheet and foil cut into sealing components.

Electrodes and electrochemical parts

Thin titanium for electrode substrates and current-carrying components.

Shielding and thermal

Thin sheet where a light, corrosion-resistant barrier is needed.

Fine components

Thin strip stock for small pressed or formed parts.

Application areas are described generically. We do not claim certification for battery, electrochemical or any other regulated end-use category. If your application has a qualification requirement, tell us the standard and it will be quoted against — or we will say that it cannot be met.

If the application needs thicker material, the plate and sheet page covers cold-rolled sheet from 0.3 mm and hot-rolled plate to 60 mm. Foil and strip that is subsequently cut to shape is handled through the same cutting routes as plate.

Send the thickness, width, grade, coil weight or sheet size you need and we will quote it.

Tell us the thickness, width, grade, whether you need coil or cut sheet, and the quantity. Edge condition and camber requirements should be included if your process is sensitive to them.

Frequently asked questions

How thin can you supply titanium foil?
Down to 0.03 mm in Grade 1 and Grade 2. Width depends on the gauge and the rolling route — tell us the thickness and width you need and we will confirm what can be quoted.
What is the difference between titanium foil and titanium strip?
Both are thin flat product supplied in coil. As a working convention, foil refers to the thinnest gauges — from 0.03 mm up to about 0.5 mm — and strip to a slightly heavier band. The thickness you need is what matters; state it in millimetres.
Do you supply foil in cut sheets as well as coils?
Yes. Material can be supplied in coil form or cut into sheets, and the packing differs accordingly. If your process needs coil, tell us the coil weight and the inside diameter your decoiler accepts.
Which grades are used for foil and strip?
Grade 1 and Grade 2. Grade 1 is chosen where maximum formability matters; Grade 2 where the standard CP grade's strength and corrosion performance is wanted in thin form.
Is the material certified for battery or electrode applications?
We do not claim certification for battery, electrochemical or other regulated end-use categories. Tell us the standard your application requires and we will confirm whether it can be quoted or say that it cannot.

Titanium stock supply & custom machining

Titanium mill products are available from stock across a broad range of grades and sizes through our Baoji manufacturing and supply network. Send your exact grade, standard, dimensions and quantity to confirm the stock match, documents and dispatch date.

Custom titanium machined parts: 3–30 days. Lead time depends on drawing complexity, quantity, tolerance and inspection requirements. The production start date is agreed with the order; international transit is additional.

Enquiries welcome from Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. Include your destination country, units, delivery terms and documentation requirements.
