From drawing to delivery
- Send the drawingDWG, DXF, STEP, IGES or PDF. Include the quantity, the grade if you have specified one, and any tolerance or finish that is critical to function.
- Feasibility and clarificationWe check the geometry against what the production partners can hold, and come back with any question that needs answering before a price can be given. Better a question now than a non-conforming part later.
- Quotation with stated tolerancesPrice, lead time and the tolerance and surface finish we are offering — stated explicitly, not implied by a general claim.
- Sample or first articleFor a new part, a first article lets you verify dimension, finish and fit before a batch is committed. Quoted per project.
- Production and in-process checksMachining with dimensional checks at the stages agreed in the quotation.
- Final inspection, packing and shipmentFinal dimensional record, material certificate, marking and packing for the agreed transport mode.
Materials we quote
| Grade | Min. tensile | Notes for machining |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 1 | 240 MPa | Softest grade; used where formability or a very low strength is acceptable |
| Grade 2 | 345 MPa | Most machined parts where corrosion resistance drives the choice |
| Grade 3 | 450 MPa | Intermediate CP grade, quoted on request |
| Grade 4 | 550 MPa | Strongest CP grade; also used for dental mill blanks |
| Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V | 895 MPa | The standard choice for strength-critical machined components |
| Grade 7 | 345 MPa | Ti-0.15Pd for reducing-acid service |
| Grade 9 | 620 MPa | Ti-3Al-2.5V where a part is both machined and formed |
| Grade 23 | 860 MPa | Ti-6Al-4V ELI with controlled interstitials |
Tensile figures are standard minimums from the relevant ASTM specifications. Machining notes are general guidance for grade selection, not a machining parameter recommendation.
Tolerance and surface finish basis
Titanium tolerances cost money, and the right answer is the loosest tolerance the function allows. Rather than quote a generic capability figure, every quotation states the tolerance and finish being offered for that specific part, referenced to the dimensional system your drawing uses. If your drawing carries a general tolerance block, we quote against it.

A real order, described generically
A European customer has placed repeat orders for Grade 2 parts machined to their own drawings, alongside threaded rod, tube and fittings on the same purchase orders. The parts are produced to drawing at the partner works and shipped air freight under a delivered-duty arrangement, which suits the small, frequent order pattern of that business. The customer is not named here.
Inspection and documentation
Machined parts ship with the material mill test report and a dimensional inspection record. Where the drawing calls up specific inspection — a first-article report, a particular sampling plan, certified dimensional results on nominated features — it is quoted as part of the order rather than added afterwards.

How your drawings are handled
Drawings are confidential and are used only to quote and produce your order. They are not published, not shown to other customers and not reused as samples without written permission. If a formal non-disclosure agreement has to be signed before you can release drawings, say so at enquiry stage and we will confirm the current arrangement.

Send a DWG, STEP or PDF with the quantity and any specified grade or standard. If the tolerances or the finish are not yet fixed, describe the function instead and we will suggest what the part actually needs.
