Packing by product form
| Product form | Packing | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Plate and sheet | Moisture-proof paper, PE foam between plates, strapped, in an export wooden case or on a reinforced pallet | Protects the surface finish from contact damage and keeps the plate flat |
| Bar and rod | Bundled with soft interleaving, banded, ends protected, in a wooden cradle or case | Prevents bruising of the turned or peeled surface and stops the bundle shifting |
| Tube and pipe | Bundle strapped with end caps in place, timber spacers between layers, wooden case for smaller OD | Holds the wall thickness and ovality and protects the tube ends |
| Coil, foil and strip | VCI or moisture-proof wrap, cardboard over the coil edge, on a pallet or in a case | Thin gauge dents and creases easily; the coil edge is the vulnerable part |
| Fasteners and machined parts | Individual wrapping, foam-layer trays, small export cases | Stops thread damage and metal-to-metal marking |
The full packing specification is documented in the standards guide's companion ordering note and is confirmed in the quotation. If you have an unusual packing requirement — heat-number marking on every piece, a specific case dimension, or fumigation paperwork for a particular destination — state it in the enquiry.
Protection logic
- Contact damage. Titanium is softer than the steel it is stacked with. Interleaving and soft lashing prevent the surface marks that cause a delivery to be rejected on arrival.
- Moisture. Sea freight crosses several climate zones. Moisture-proof wrapping and, where relevant, desiccant, prevent condensation staining — particularly on pickled and polished surfaces.
- Iron contamination. Titanium should not be stored or handled against bare carbon steel. Packing materials and handling at the production base are chosen accordingly.
- Identification. Case marks and material marking are tied to the packing list so receiving inspection can match the delivery to the documentation.
Consolidation: mixed products, one shipment
Ordering plate from one supplier and tube from another means two sets of documents, two freight bookings and two arrivals. Because we coordinate several partner production sources, mixed-form orders can often be consolidated, packed as one consignment and shipped against one document set. Whether a given combination can be consolidated depends on the sizes, quantities and production schedules involved, and is confirmed when we quote.
A consolidated enquiry we have prepared at the twenty-tonne level — a mixed plate, bar and tube package quoted as a single container load — is described on the plate and sheet page. That was a quotation we issued, not a completed shipment, and it is cited to show the kind of package we are asked to put together.
Express and air freight for small consignments
Small parcels — samples, a few cut lengths, a first prototype order — can move by air or by courier under a delivered-duty arrangement. This route is most often used by buyers who want to qualify the material and the paperwork before placing a production order. Ask for a two-option quote: sea and air, side by side.
Incoterms explained
| Term | We arrange | You arrange |
|---|---|---|
| EXW | Packing and collection at the production base | All transport, export clearance, duty, delivery |
| FOB | Inland transport, export clearance, loading at the port of departure | Ocean freight, insurance, import clearance, duty |
| CIF | Everything to the destination port plus marine insurance | Import clearance, duty, inland delivery |
| DAP | Everything to your named address, duty unpaid | Import clearance and duty |
| DDP | Everything to your named address, duty paid | Nothing — goods delivered cleared |
Incoterm definitions are summarised in plain language for buyers; the official Incoterms rules published by the ICC govern.
Ports, transit and labelling
Departure port and shipping line are confirmed with the quotation, because the best routing depends on the destination and the sailing schedule at the time. Sea and air transit times are quoted as reference figures for the lane in question and are confirmed in the order confirmation; they vary by service and season.
Labelling follows your receiving requirements wherever they are stated: case marks, heat numbers, quantity per case and your own part references can all be applied so that goods-in does not have to re-identify the consignment.
Send us your destination port and quantity and we will come back with two shipping options side by side.

Tell us the destination country and port, the quantity and the required arrival window. We will quote sea and air options where both are practical, and state clearly what each Incoterm puts on our account.
