Overview
Titanium wire is the smallest form we quote and one of the most sensitive to process control. Diameter tolerance, surface cleanliness and the condition of the wire all matter, because wire is normally fed into a downstream process — cold heading, weaving, spring winding or welding — that will not tolerate variation.
The three things to state in a wire enquiry are the diameter, the condition and the spool or coil format. Everything else follows from those.

Conditions M / R / Y
Annealed wire is soft and ductile, which is what a cold-heading or weaving operation needs. Cold-worked wire is stronger and holds its shape, which suits springs and pins. Half-hard sits between the two. The condition is a process decision as much as a material one, so tell us what the wire will be used for and we will quote the condition that fits.
Welding wire and filler metal
Titanium welding consumables are matched to the parent metal: Grade 2 filler for Grade 2 parent metal, Grade 5 for Grade 5, and so on, with the standard AWS filler-metal designation applied to the specific alloy. Because the designation system is detailed and the correct choice depends on the joint and the parent metal, we ask for the parent grade and the welding process rather than guessing a part number.
